If you ever go to Hannibal, Missouri, be sure to take the time to ride up to Riverview Park, There you will see an amazing view of the mighty Mississippi River. Mark Twain wrote about the river extensively in his novels about Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn. Visions of the two boys can linger in your head as you see them float down the river on their raft. The bluffs are high in Hannibal so the visitor can see the river, an island and the flat bottom lands of Illinois on the other side. The river is known for being the muddy Mississippi but on this beautiful summer day, it looks bright blue and clear. It truly is a magnificent river!!
