Washington Park, in Quincy, IL, was the site for the 6th Lincoln-Douglas debate in 1858. Lincoln was running against Douglas for the Senate at the time. He lost to Stephen Douglas in that race.
Today, the park is the center for many activities. In the summer season one can go to free "Blues in the District" concerts and a wonderful MidSummer's Arts Faire.
From early spring through fall, there is a farmers' market 2 days a week which bring just picked vegetables and fruit for townspeople to buy. .Crafts people and musicians come also to add to the ambiance of the farmers' market.
There is a fun spurting water fountain for the kids to play in. It is a delight to hear them laugh and to see their smiles.
The Fine Arts America watermark will not be on any purchased product.
